On 13 December 2019, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and IDRAK Technology Transfer LTD signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the cooperation of ASAN Railway project.
The MoU was signed by Ulvi Mehdiyev, the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Javid Gurbanov, the Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and Hikmat Abdullayev, the President of IDRAK Technology Transfer LTD.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to implement small-volume passenger and cargo transportations via railways, as well as jointly conduct application of innovative ASAN Railway unmanned vehicles to ensure a safe and quick journey to regions.
As an innovative taxi system for railway traffic, ASAN Railway is the most eco-friendly means of passenger transportation which provides high-level safety through electronics, robotics, and Internet solutions, as well as on-time arrival to anywhere.
The initial model of the ASAN Railway system is available in a laboratory environment, and the Memorandum mentioned above will further accelerate this process.
ASAN Railway system was first introduced to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at the opening ceremony of ASAN Hayat complex in Imishli.
