The mobile border control system is designed for use in conditions that require the mobility of the border guard (for example, on a sea vessel, rail transport, airports, cargo and transit flights). This is the mobile workplace of a border guard on a portable device. The device is designed to carry out control and registration procedures for travellers and vehicles crossing the state border. The mobile border control system allows the staff of the checkpoint to read and recognize text, biometric and graphic information from passports and other identity documents.
Mobile BCS software and hardware components provide long-term autonomous operation, and this device is indispensable when remote passport control is needed. All hardware and software components are fully compliant with international standards.
In normal mode, mobile workstations work online, exchanging information with BCS server components. If it is not possible to connect to the server components of the system (for example, the absence of communication channels, exceptions such as malfunctions in the central part of the system), the client components of the system switch to stand-alone mode. In such cases, workstations collect data and perform basic checks of the entered data (for example, checking the validity of documents).
